Nigeria to receive 16m free doses of COVID-19 vaccines —- UK Govt

Lagos, Feb. 9, 2021 The UK Government on Tuesday said that the Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) had announced that Nigeria would be one of the first countries to receive 16 million free doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX Global Vaccines Facility.
The British High Commission Office in a statement made available to Naija247news said that the free doses would be received in the first half of this year.
It said that Gavi had shared the first forecasts of countries who would receive COVID-19 vaccines through COVAX’s Advance Market Commitment (AMC).
According to the Commission, COVAX has allocated over 330 million doses for low and lower middle-income countries, including Nigeria. ....

HP, Nigeria Police partner to stop sales of counterfeit products

Lagos, Dec. 21, 2020 Multinational Information Technology company, HP, has raised alarm that about 12 million products counterfeits and components have been seized by local authorities across Europe, Middle East and Africa in the last five years.
Glenn Jones, Director, Global Anti-Counterfeit Programme at HP, revealed this in a statement on Monday in Lagos.
Jones added that HP had partnered with Nigeria Police to stop the sales of over 54,000 counterfeit goods, which included ready for sale fraudulent toners and ink cartridges.
The director said that the Nigeria Police, with the assistance from HP Nigeria, discovered a massive operation selling counterfeit cartridges for HP printers. ....
