Three KU alumni among members of inaugural class of Kansas Photojournalism Hall of Fame
Kansas photojournalists honored in a new hall of fame don't have a single image to thank. They're being recognized for lengthy careers.
Eight of the 12 members of the inaugural class of the Kansas Photojournalism Hall of Fame worked at one time at the Topeka Capital-Journal. The 12 will be honored at a ceremony on Nov. 19 at The Beacon in Topeka. To register for the event, which begins with a reception at 6 p.m., go here.
A pair of The Hutchinson News photographers will be inducted into the Kansas Photojournalism Hall of Fame: Sandra Milburn and Pete Souza.
It’s a virtual “Who’s Who” of the most significant icons of photography of the past 50 years. In November, 12 photographers with strong Kansas ties will constitute the inaugural class of the newly minted Kansas Photojournalism Hall of Fame during a special event in Topeka. The class includes Pulitzer Prize winners, National Geographic staffers, a former chief photographer for two presidents and others who have made history through still photography.
