The project was awarded to general contractor Bruce Uterbrink Construction. GRANITE CITY Madison County Transit officials on Monday announced they are reducing fixed-route and paratransit fares and eliminating confusing fare zone boundaries in Madison County starting May 9. All fixed-route trips within Madison County will be reduced to just $1 per ride. Trips to St. Louis and St. Clair County will be $3.
Fluhr EDWARDSVILLE A motorist who allegedly struck a man after exiting a transit bus in Madison County is accused of negligence. Ralster Cole filed a complaint March 9 in the Madison County Circuit Court against George Singleton. Cole alleges in his suit that around 5 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2019, he was exiting a transit bus at the bus stop near Highway 111 and Gateway Commerce Center Drive. He claims that he looked both ways as he tried to cross Gateway Commerce Center Drive when Singleton, who was driving his vehicle and turning left from Highway111, struck him. As a result, Cole alleges he suffered extensive bodily harm, including a fractured leg and injuries to his chest, pelvis, abdomen, buttocks, hip, legs, joints, muscles, nerves, tissues and membranes, as well as sprains, bruises and was left stiff, swollen, numb. He also claims he suffers from limited motion.
MCT adjusting 5 bus schedules Dec. 31, 2020 FacebookTwitterEmail GRANITE CITY Madison County Transit (MCT) is adjusting five routes starting in January. “MCT’s goal is to keep our community moving in the safest and most efficient way possible,” said MCT Managing Director SJ Morrison. “These enhancements will not only improve access to jobs, shopping, and services for our residents, the additional trips will help foster social distancing, especially on the busier routes.” Route changes include: • #1 Riverbend: Reinstating the 5:33 a.m. weekday southbound trip from Alton Station, and the 6:48 a.m. weekday northbound trip from Granite City Station. • #6 Roxana-Pontoon Beach: Reinstating the 4:35 a.m. weekday southbound trip from Wood River Station to Gateway Commerce Center, and the 5:47 a.m. weekday northbound trip from Liberty and Chain of Rocks.

Ameren Illinois expands electric grid with composite poles The Telegraph FacebookTwitterEmail Crews working on behalf of Ameren Illinois are setting approximately 100 power poles and power lines from the company’s Wanda Substation to the commerce center. COLLINSVILLE Ameren Illinois is preparing for future commercial growth in the Gateway Commerce Center along Interstate 255 by expanding its electric distribution service, while adding resiliency and redundancy to the local grid. Crews working on behalf of Ameren Illinois have been working from the company’s Wanda Substation in the 3200 block of Old Alton Edwardsville Road to the commerce center. Crews are setting more than 100 power poles and power lines along a 3.4-mile route. The crews are constructing two different electric power sources at the same time.
