A key European regulatory body filed an antitrust complaint against Google alleging it has abused its dominant presence in the advertising market, a move that follows U.S. regulatory efforts to rein in the search engine's market power in digital advertising.
Google was fined $275 million in two cases one of which the company was involved in abusing its dominant position in the Android operating system market.
The NCLAT had refused to grant Google interim relief and asked it to deposit 10% of the total penalty of Rs 1,337.76 crore penalty with the CCI.
A Google spokesperson on Tuesday said the company has ”produced over three million documents, including thousands of chats.”
