Many colleges throughout the country, regardless if they’re religiously affiliated or secular, do not have religious accommodations, and the policies at most of the institutions that do are lacking, according to a recent report.
New research shows that many campuses don’t have religious accommodation policies. The policies that do exist are often too narrow. A recent study of 122 colleges and universities found that fewer than half of them have religious accommodation policies for students, and that most policies that do exist aren’t especially comprehensive. The study sample included a wide variety of institutions public and private, rural and urban, secular and religiously affiliated of different sizes, and from different regions of the country.
