We are still above average but a couple of changes. Today cloudy skies, cooler temperatures, spotty showers, a little bit of drizzle as well. 51 degrees. Winds out of the northeast turning more south southeasterly today. 48 for andrews and 49 down through walter. We head through the 81 corridor into the upper 40s. Today will be substantially cooler than what we have enjoyed lately averaging about 60 degrees. Most places in the upper 50s. This will be the trend for today. Spotty showers, really just a few drops coming down. Drizzle if you will. Its not going to be anything to ruin your plans. It wont be a wash out. Its warm. Sticky outside. Thats giving us some fog in gaithersburg a threequarters. Half mile in leesburg. Upper 70s today but much cooler tomorrow with more rain on the way. Ill tell you about that in a few. Larry . Were keeping a close eye on a situation on the inner loop of the beltway. Two accidents right now, one on the inner loom. One on the out loop. One on the outer loop. Its closing several lanes between connecticut avenue and 355. From a look at our trafficland cam, you can see the delays on the inner loop of the beltway right there. We understand an earlier tractortrailer accident which spilled fuel spilled that fuel on to not only the inner loop but also the outer loop of the beltway where we also have delays in this area. For commuters in north bethesda, best bet is to stay off the beltway because this is certainly going to become a major issue within the next 20 to 30 minutes. Alert doppler, still got a couple raindrops on route 29 from langley park up to laurel and up farther north into columbia. Boy, south of annapolis the heavy showers shadyside over toward the eastern shore. Same with Southern Maryland, im thinking another 30 to 60 minutes before most of Southern Maryland is clear as well. So thats some good news. As far as the flood watch, technically still in effect for the metro. Those are flood warnings up in howard, anne arundel and baltimore counties until 8 15. They had some street flooding. We dropped about 8, 9, 10 degrees from the high. 50s are moving in tonight and will take camp for saturday.
