The Great Bend Police Department reports that a Great Bend woman and child who were reported missing back on May 5 have been located and are safe. The GBPD posted that news on its Facebook page over the weekend, thanking the public for providing tips after Crystal M. DeMoss, 32, and her child were reported missing.
At least one rural residence north of Ellinwood sustained substantial damage from a suspected tornado on Sunday, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. Outbuildings at a farm in rural Heizer were also damaged.
