Mohamedou Ould Slahi was robbed of time. Without a single charge, he remained incarcerated for 14 years. He was broken, allegedly like hundreds of others, in cells walled off from eyes and ethical oversight at the ill-famed Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba. It was a long fight, but he won his freedom back in 2016. Five years on, as his story comes alive globally on celluloid as ‘The Mauritanian’, based on his book ‘Guantanamo Diary’, he told
