April 8, 2021 Andrew Karolyi, acting dean of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business since Kevin F. Hallock stepped down March 4, will serve as dean of the college for the remainder of Hallock’s term, Provost Michael Kotlikoff has announced. The Cornell University Board of Trustees’ Executive Committee approved the appointment April 8. Karolyi’s term will end June 30, 2024. March 4, 2021 Kevin F. Hallock, the dean of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, will depart Cornell this summer to become president of the University of Richmond, effective Aug. 15. February 16, 2021 Harold “Hal” Bierman Jr., the Nicholas H. Noyes Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Management and Finance, who transformed the framing of investment decisions and mentored thousands of MBA students over nearly six decades at Cornell, died Feb. 12 in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. He was 96. Bierman joined the Cornell faculty in 1956, serving for 59 years in the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management as a professor of finance, accounting and management.
