Smiths lend a hand to Monument EMTs | News | bluemountaineagle.com

MONUMENT — Just over a dozen shotgun shooters and other attendees braved brisk February morning temperatures at the Kimberly residence of Brad and Julie Smith to partake in one of the couple’s famous, all-encompassing clay pigeon shotgun shoot fundraisers on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The sound of shotgun blasts were melded with the boisterous conversations and laughter of shooters whether they hit — or missed the small airborne orange discs. Scores homemade desserts were available for purchase via auction and a pulled pork lunch filled the bellies of participants in between shooting rounds.

Shooters competed for a host of prizes including a dreamcatcher, homemade jellies and jams, pocket knives and a loaf of Lola Mae’s banana bread. Raffle tickets for a Traeger Pellet Grill were sold at the shoot with tickets also available at various businesses throughout Monument.
