Humberto Polanco, 35, was arrested and charged Dec. 21 following the death of 38-year-old Veronica Carrillo. Polanco allegedly swerved to hit Carrillo with his vehicle as she walked on West 16th Street, according to a press release from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
ODESSA, TX – A 35-year-old suspect has been charged with murder after police say he ran over a woman on purpose. According to the Ector County Sheriff s Office, on Sunday night deputies responded to an auto-pedestrian accident on West 16th Street. At the scene, deputies located 38-year-old Veronica Carillo. She had been struck and killed by a vehicle that had left the scene. The subsequent investigation revealed Humberto Polanco Jr. was driving a black SUV. Police allege Polanco purposely swerved and hit Carillo. Polanco was charged with murder and booked into the Ector County Jail.
