Virginia Cousins Barber (1943-2021)
Virginia Cousins Barber of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Barber, also known to many as Aunt Jenny, Grandma Barber and Nana, was born on July 28th, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia to Etheridge Lee Cousins and Alma Virginia Bailey.
She married Tilghmon Wayne Barber Senior on January 5th, 1962 and remained married for a total of 59 glorious years.
She graduated from Bainbridge High School in Richmond, Va.
Her early College education was carried out in Richmond, Virginia as well where she obtained Technical Certification in both Business and Healthcare.

As the COVID-19 pandemic began hitting Iowa’s economy, Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services heard local businesses open up about the struggle to staff customer service jobs. IVRS, which serves Iowans with disabilities seeking to enter the workforce, found opportunity.
The pandemic has opened a range of work-from-home options up to IVRS clients in organizations that had previously never supported work-from-home employees, said Michelle Krefft, director of business services at IVRS.
