Los Angeles, California - A federal grand jury in Los Angeles, California, returned an indictment on April 13, charging a California man with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
According to court documents, Oumar Sissoko, 59, of Temecula, submitted a PPP loan application on behalf of his company, Road Doctor California LLC, that sought and obtained $7.25 million. The loan application certified that the funds would be used to retain workers and maintain payroll or make mortgage-interest payments, lease payments, and utility payments. Between on or about May 1 to May 12, 2020, Sissoko misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars of the PPP loan proceeds to use for impermissible purposes, including the purchase of a luxury car for more than $100,000, the satisfaction of a loan made to Sissoko in connection with his prior acquisition of a different luxury car, and the purch ....

U.s. Border Patrol agents apprehended two men and a woman with her two children early Thursday morning.
Remote camera operators watched a man being lowered by rope from the border fence about 3 miles west of downtown Calexico. The remote surveillance operators than saw a second man being lowered and noticed that a small child was clinging to his back. A third adult , a woman holding a child , was lowered from the top of the border fence. The camera operators saw three smugglers on the Mexican side of the border with a ladder. They also had the rope used to lower the five. Agents were able to take the three adults and two children into custody. The 32-year old woman and her children , a 2-year old girl and a 6-year old boy , are undocumented immigrants from Venezuela. The men , one 28 years old and the other 31 , are also from Venezuela , and are not related to the mother or kids.  ....

Sacramento, California - Liana Karapetyan, 41, of El Dorado Hills, pleaded guilty yesterday to one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and one count of conspiracy to pay and receive health care kickbacks, Acting U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.
According to court documents, Karapetyan and another individual owned and controlled home health care and hospice agencies in the greater Sacramento area: ANG Health Care Inc., Excel Home Healthcare Inc., and Excel Hospice Inc. On behalf of the agencies, Karapetyan and another individual certified to Medicare that they would not pay kickbacks in exchange for Medicare beneficiary referrals to the agencies. ....

Sacramento, California - A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment Thursday against Parampreet Singh, 55, of Davis; Ranvir Singh, 38, of Sacramento; and Amandeep Multani, 33, of Roseville, charging them with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute at least 5 kilograms of cocaine, at least 1 kilogram of a mixture containing heroin, opium, and ketamine, Acting U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.
According to court documents, no later than August 2020, an investigation began into a drug trafficking organization that was based in Sacramento and extended to the greater Toronto Area in Canada. San Diego, California - Valorie Moser, former bookkeeper for the adult website GirlsDoPorn, pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to conspiring with the operators of the website to fraudulently coerce young women to appear in sex videos.
Moser, who worked for GirlsDoPorn (GDP) from 2015 to 2018, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Linda Lopez to Conspiracy to Commit Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud and Coercion. Moser, the third of six defendants to plead guilty, admitted that she served as GDP’s bookkeeper, made travel arrangements for models, provided transportation for approximately 100 models once they arrived in San Diego, and performed miscellaneous other tasks. Moser reported her accounting activities to co-defendant Matthew Wolfe, and her interactions with the models to co-defendant Michael Pratt and others. ....
