US lawmakers urge Biden to recognise 'war crimes' committed by Pakistan during 1971 Bangladesh liberation

Lawmakers in the United States House of Representatives have proposed a resolution urging President Joe Biden to recognise the atrocities committed by Pakistan forces during the 1971 liberation of Bangladesh as genocide and war crimes. The eight-page resolution is titled 'Recognising the Bangladesh Genocide of 1971' and urges that the "active role" played by the Pakistan army and its functioning ancillary units in mass rape and genocide be recognised.

Kwasi Kwarteng is no longer the United Kingdom's Chancellor of the Exchequer. As Liz Truss, the Prime Minister struggles to preserve her beleaguered premiership, the minister has as per reports been sacked. As speculation grew about a possible government u-turn on parts of the recently announced mini-budget in order to calm the markets, Kwarteng who was in the US returned early for "urgent discussions" with Prime Minister Truss, reports the BBC.

A Pakistani minister was greeted with an onslaught of heckling upon his arrival at an airport in the United States. Finance minister Ishaq Dar who as per reports had reached the United States to attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank upon landing was met with calls of "chor" or "thief". A video of the incident has gone viral on Twitter and other social media sites. It shows Dar and his entourage walking through the airport when the calls of "chor" ring out.  Watch it here:

As per reports the supreme leader of Pakistan's ruling PML-N party Nawaz Sharif may soon be ending his three years long self-exile and returning to Pakistan from London. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi as per the Daily Times recently informed that the former three-term Prime Minister will return by late November or early December.
