Politicians. until it changes, we ll never be able to stop correcting the real problems facing our nation. most money spent in the world on health care, atrocious health. most money spent in the world subsidizing a banking system, no investment in lending or foreclosure crisis, unemployment, and 15% poverty. spend the most in the world on energy, most inefficient, most energy wasteful nation on the planet, us. the list goes on and on. quite simply, money has bought our politics and what is getting spent is going to greedy bastards, not us. and only we can take it back. so now, our goal is to transform all that mad as hell anger from this summer, mine, yours, everybody else s into positive change that begins this fall. and here for the unveiling of the petition and the amendment is our washington insider, jimmy williams, a former lobbyist, who in consultation with a series of constitutional scholars penned the text, and mark mckinnon, ....

But there s not enough jobs to go around. has to be the focus. one thing you were a little disappointed about the debate last night, that you felt the candidates on stage did not speak specifically to your group, the younger people. why did they not do that? a lot of talk about deregulation and the health care bill being a burden to job creation. well, interestingly, young people yesterday in the new york times were shown to be the most benefited constituency from the health care bill. almost over a million young people can now stay on their parents insurance plan and, you know, that kind of focus was not addressed about what we re going to do as a government to create jobs as opposed to getting government completely out of the way. young people view government as inefficient in some areas of life but, you know, to completely abolish the government as ron paul or michelle bachmann was saying seems a little extreme and young people, 4 out of 10 of us don t identify with political ....

in spending that we ve already cut from the budget, our plan makes additional spending cuts that need to happen if we re to solve this problem. we reform agriculture subsidies. subsidies that a lot of times pay large farms for crops that they don t grow. we make modest adjustments to federal retirement programs. we reduce by tens of billions of dollars the tax money that goes to fannie mae and freddie mac. we also ask the largest financial firms, companies saved by tax dollars during financial crisis, to repay the american people for every dime that we ve spent. and we save an additional $1 trillion as we end the wars in iraq and afghanistan. these savings are not only counted as part of our plan but as part of the budget plan that nearly every republican on the house voted for. finally, this plan includes structural reforms to reduce the costs of health care and programs like medicare and medicaid. keep in mind we ve already included a number of reforms in the health c ....

pain of the unemployed temporarily. some will put people back to work. but they do not make for a complete solution. yet it s a start. as long as congress passes the bill. while the politicians bicker, many americans have no place to live. as many as 1 million people may have become homeless during the recent recession. with some living in tent cities like this one near st. petersburg, florida. these are people who used to have solid, middle-class jobs. what s more, almost half of america s unemployed have been out of work for six months or longer. they are in danger of becoming a lost generation. losing the skills and motivation to ever reach their potential. but we need more than temporary tax cuts and extensions of unemployment. we need a plan to grow industries and with them, jobs. in this hour, we ll shine a light on solutions. immediate and long-term. but our focus is on stuff that can actually happen. plans, not dreams. we ll look at promising industries and idea ....

now my take. the european crisis you have been reading about in the newspapers is worth watching very carefully. it has now morphed into something much bigger than a european crisis. it could batter the entire global economy, which is pretty fragile anyway. you read a lot about greece. the real problem is italy. you see, greece is a nano state and makes up about 2% of the european union s gross domestic problem. italy, on the other hand, is one of the seven or eight largest economies in the world. its debts are greater than those of spain, portugal, ireland, and greece combined. and it has long been governed in an almost cartoonishly bad manner. italy is too big to fail, but it also might be too big to bail. even germany may not be able to credibly bail it out along with all the other troubled countries. so what can be done? i don t think the leading proposals will work. creating eurobonds or giving brussels broader powers to tax and spend. those things won t happen. ....
