Jakarta: Indonesian officials and the families of crew members have praised the men who perished on the submarine detected on the floor of the Bali Strait.
Indonesia found the wreckage of the navy submarine of the KRI Nanggala-402 missing since Wednesday and declared all 53 of its crew members dead, the countryâs military chief announced on Sunday.

Berda Asmara, wife of Second Sergeant Guntur Ari Prasetya told the
Jakarta Post she had last spoken to her husband 30 minutes before the submarine left for a training program on Monday. He had asked for prayers for his safety before his departure, she said.

We say our prayers for the safety of all sailors on board Merauke, Papua (ANTARA) - Tens of army personnel and civil servants at the 1707/Merauke District Military Command in Papua Province conducted a prayer for the safety of 53 sailors on board of sinking KRI Nanggala-402 on Saturday.
"We say our prayers for the safety of all sailors on board," Commander of the 1707/Merauke District Military Command Lt.Col.Muh.Rois said in a statement that ANTARA received here Sunday.

This mission's main priority is saving the 53 submariners Jakarta (ANTARA) - House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani has appealed to all parties involving in a search mission to do their utmost endeavors to locate Indonesia's KRI Nanggala-402, and evacuate 53 sailors on board.
"Our best prayers are with all patriots on board of the KRI Nanggala-402. May the submarine be located, and all sailors on board are found alive," she said in a press statement that ANTARA quoted in Jakarta on Sunday.

An Indonesian submarine, which went missing last Wednesday, has been found buried deep in the Bali Sea, the country’s army and navy officials said April 25. The rescuers found new objects, including a life vest that they believe belong to those aboard the 44-year old KRI Nanggala-402. In the aftermath, the authorities have declared that the submarine sunk after it lost contact, following which all its crew died.
