Five such companies which have firmed up their initial public offering (IPO) plans are Glenmark Lifesciences, a fully-owned arm of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, the city-based bulk drugs firm Supriya Lifesciences, drug formulations firm Windlass Biotech, Bain Capital-backed Emcure Pharma and CX Partners-funded Veeda Clinical Research. According to investment-bankers, they are planning to mop up over Rs 7,000 crore in primary share sales.

Adani Transmission, Cipla, GAIL, Gujarat Gas, Honeywell Automation, Adani Power, REC, Aditya Capital, Ipca Laps, Tata Chemicals and Escorts will announce quarterly earnings today.

Asian shares were trading with mild gains on Thursday, shrugging off the worries about coronavirus infections and mixed overnight trade on Wall Street. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up by 0.15 per cent.

While the Covid-19 situation is improving in India, other Asian countries are witnessing a rise in infections. This might impact sentiments for Asian markets in general, said an analyst.
