Melissa Bailey pleads not guilty to 2023 DUI causing death | Legal Affairs
A Charleston woman pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of DUI causing death. According to a criminal complaint, Melissa Dawn Bailey, 46, was involved in a two-vehicle wreck on Aug. 30 at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue South and Washington Street West. Gavin Vest, 20, was seated in the back seat of the Toyota Corolla Bailey was driving. He died as a result of injuries in the crash, according to the complaint.
