Like U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, Sen. Tim Kaine's office is getting lots of mail complaints, from Chilhowie and Marion in Southwest Virginia, to Richmond's suburbs and Arlington in Northern Virginia. Kaine, D-Virginia, recently demanded some answers as to why from the U.S. Postal Service.
The former governor said Roanoke isn't the only place in Virginia or the nation experiencing a slow down in mail deliveries. There's a system-wide shortage of postal workers, he said.
"Isn't [DeJoy] the one who gutted machines and people out of the post office?" asked reader Charles Reynolds. "So if the mail is slow, isn't he responsible?"
It also appears that the governor's office is refusing to release incoming "tips," under an exception in Virginia's Freedom of Information Act. So much for transparency, eh?
