Des Moines County Sheriff: third armed robbery suspect arrested

Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff's Office says the third suspect in an armed robbery has been located and arrested. According to a news release, at about 12:21 AM Tuesday, Des Moines County Deputies were dispatched to Sundown Apartments, 10994 115th Avenue, in reference to a robbery with shots fired. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim who said that he had been held at gunpoint by three men who took money from him and fled on foot. Upon further investigation, detectives identified the three men as Aaron Bessine, Jason Hollenbeck, and Ryan Payne. Hollenbeck and Payne were located, interviewed, and arrested. Hollenbeck was charged with 1st Degree Robbery and felon in possession of a firearm. Payne was charged with 1st Degree Robbery. Bessine was located at about 2:23 PM Thursday in the 2400 block of Burlington Avenue. He was arrested on warrants for 1st-degree Robbery and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Hollenbeck was charged with Robbery in the 1st degree and felon in possession of a firearm. Payne was charged with Robbery in the 1st degree. Bessine (above) has not been located and currently has active warrants for Robbery in the first degree and felon in possession of a firearm. Bessine should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who has information on Bessine's whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement immediately.
