The remains of the sailors were covered by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the u. S. Navy in 2002. In this american artifact, we will observe the ceremony and learn the history of the monitor and the efforts to identify the remains of recovered sailors. We spoke after the burial with david hallberg, superintendent of the monitor National Marine sanctuary.
