caucus tomorrow as we have been warning. the coldest caucus night in history. iowaians are a tough bunch. they are not scared of snow or cold. joining me now is jeff, chairman of the republican party in iowa who i am sure is keeping an eye on the weather. we know you are tough in iowa, are you worried about the effects that this weather could have on turnout tomorrow? >> well, i mean, i don't know if we will have a record turnout. we have enthusiasm and organization abilities of these campaigns, looked like we were in an environment to shoot for that 186,000. i don't know if we will get there. i really do believe it will be robust. today was clear, the ice that we are going to have another 24 hours for the snowplows to get out. does not look like whiteout or blizzard. we are focused on the temperature. there will be multiple, multiple times where it is below 0 out here in iowa.

other campaigns and not yours. but it's not easing his concern. they are -- jeff brought up a really good point here. they have been leading by 30 points, 28 points. they want the biggest margin possible, but they are tempering expectations, too. they know it's possible that turnout is going to be lower than expected. >> this is also a little different of a trump operation. from 2016 to now they have gotten more targeted, they know their voters more clearly. when i talk to trump supporters, they say that's what's going to happen. they are not as haphazard an operation in 2016 but they know who to send the cars to and the communities with the untapped trump supporters. and trying to get first-time caucus goers to change the elect electorate. today we're looking at the margin to see if trump can live up to that polling but i think this is a campaign operation more well suited to deal with these conditions than the trump campaign in 2016. >> if it works today, if he comes out of iowa with a 20 or 30-point lead, this is the strategy they are going to deploy if he's the nominee in
