Political Coverage Editor Fine Gael had decided to re-admit three Senators who lost the party whip following their participation in the controversial Oireachtas Golf Society event in Cliften last August.  During a meeting of the parliamentary party Tánaiste Leo Varadkar proposed a motion that Senators Jerry Buttimer, John Cummins and Paddy Burke be readmitted. Fine Gael readmits three Golfgate senators

FINE Gael has readmitted three senators who were stripped of the party whip over their attendance at the infamous Oireachtas Golf Society in Clifden last August. Fine Gael's Jerry Buttimer, Paddy Burke and John Cummins were told today they are having the whip restored after they were, in effect, expelled from the parliamentary party last August.
