As part of a Holy Week tradition, thousands of Catholics are making the trek to El Santuario de Chimayó, one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage centers in the U.S.

Residents of Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Alamos and beyond asked questions and made comments about nuclear production and disposal in New Mexico.

Lent is less about individual penance, and more about communal conversion, and the conversion most needed is to work for the elimination of nuclear weapons, says Fr. John Heagle.
