Cusick, a Sudbury native who starred at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, was picked by the Atlanta Braves with the 24th overall selection. Two of Frelick's Boston College teammates were chosen on Day 2 of the draft on Monday. Cody Morissette, a shortstop from Exeter, New Hampshire, went to the Miami Marlins at No. 52 in the second round while Emmet Sheehan, a right-handed pitcher from Darien, Connecticut, was picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers at No. 192 in the sixth round.Josh Baez, of the Dexter Southfield School in Brookline, became the first Massachusetts high school player taken in this year's draft when the St. Louis Cardinals selected him with the 54th overall pick in the second round. Baez, who starred as a pitcher and outfielder, is committed to play at Vanderbilt University.University of Michigan left-handed pitcher Steven Hajjar, an Andover native who graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, was taken by the Minnesota Twins with the 61st overall pick in the second round.University of Maryland right-handed pitcher Sean Burke, a Sutton native who starred at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, went to the Chicago White Sox at No. 94 in the third round.University of Maine right-handed pitcher Nick Sinacola, a North Attleborough native and North Attleborough High School graduate, was drafted by the San Francisco Giants with the 206th overall pick in the seventh round.University of Virginia right-handed pitcher Mike Vasil, a Wellesley native and Boston College High School standout, was selected at No. 232 by the New York Mets in the eighth round.Three Northeastern University players were selected on Day 3 of the draft. The Red Sox didn't draft any players with Massachusetts ties, but did land shortstop Marcelo Mayer -- considered by MLB.com to be the No. 1 prospect in the draft -- with the fourth overall pick in the first round.

Miami gets the first pick in the Competitive Balance Round A round followed by the Tigers. There are two pitchers that stand out and several position players that would be most appealing.
Ranked 9th by some entering the draft SP Ty Madden, a collegiate 22 year old pitcher, hasn't yet been selected. He is rated the lone 55 prospect still on the board.
Another prep pitching prospect, a left-hander, Anthony Solometo, ranked at 17, remains a possibility. He seems less likely to me to be the Tigers pick.

Kiley McDaniel's 2021 MLB draft rankings 2.0 -- Is Jordan Lawlar or Jack Leiter No. 1 in our top 100?

The 2021 MLB draft picture is coming into focus now, with all the top prospects playing for multiple weeks and plenty of time for pop-up types to be seen multiple times by each team. After this group of the top 100 players plus seven who just missed, things really open up and there's a seemingly endless number of players you could squint at and see sneaking into the fourth round if things break right.
Texas high school shortstop Jordan Lawlar and Vanderbilt ace Jack Leiter started to separate themselves as a clear top tier in this group. Beyond them, a pretty consensus second tier has formed, with the majority of teams calling it an overall top eight with the players listed below in a similar order, but there's obviously some room for disagreement toward the tail end of Tier 2 and the top of Tier 3.
