As tourists and new residents flock to South Florida's beaches, ocean rescue chiefs struggle to hire new lifeguards while current lifeguards work overtime to pick up the slack.

With more visitors and permanent residents on our beaches, Ocean Rescue has a lot to keep up with, especially as there’s a nationwide shortage of lifeguards.

They also say more tourists than normal are expected to spend time in Palm Beach County this summer. They say the pandemic is a major factor.
