International Student Award Ceremony April 29 at SMSU
The International Student Organization (ISO) at Southwest Minnesota State University is having its first-ever International Student Award Ceremony at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, in the Lower Conference Center. International students that have gone above and beyond this year will be recognized for their contributions and accomplishments to SMSU.
This event is limited to 55 people, including the awardees and invited presenters, and will be held in the SMSU Conference Center.
All international students are encouraged to RSVP (with limited seats available). A variety of international foods from Nepal, Ethiopia, and Nigeria will be served in prepacked individual packages. ....

A suburban agency says there s been a sharp uptick in people seeking mental health services during the pandemic.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Metro Suburban is providing services to help faith-based groups expand mental health support in communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19, particularly communities of color, across the Northwest and West suburbs.
 
The group aims to partner with churches, synagogues, mosques and other faith-based organizations to help build skills and increase knowledge about how to support the mental wellness of members. It is offering free virtual education sessions and mental health tools to entire congregations. ....
