1 dies when minivan traveling wrong way on 101 collides with dump truck FacebookTwitterEmail The right two lanes on northbound Highway 101 in Burlingame, Calif., were blocked Monday morning, Feb. 8, 2021.Caltrans A man died early Monday when driving a minivan the wrong way on Highway 101 northbound just before the Broadway exit in Burlingame, according to Art Montiel, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol. The driver collided with a Kenworth dump truck. As of 8 a.m., at least two lanes of 101 northbound were blocked and the left two lanes were open as an investigation continued. Traffic was backed up to San Mateo and Highway 92. KCBS said delays for drivers traveling through this area were up to a half hour. ....

A trailer is being sent to Sonoma County to help with the collection of bodies of people who have died from the coronavirus.Cal OES A grim sign of the coronavirus surge, California has leased 10 refrigerated semitrailer to assist with the collection of bodies as the daily death toll climbs to unprecedented levels, according to the Governor s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). The 10 mobile morgues are in addition to 78 refrigerator trailers that were donated by the Hub Group, an Illinois-based company, to counties and hospitals.
