Team selection so predictable. So uninspiring. So disappointing. Hope they make a mug of me but why do I doubt it?

January Reinforcements

A quick piece from me on my chosen Mastermind subject: “Unsubstantiated Transfer Speculation”.
In the past (both at Everton and elsewhere, I believe), Marcel Brands has been loathe to dip into the January transfer market, rightly perceiving that the shops are a bit threadbare unless you intend to pay over the odds for players. Most of the players touted around are those who are out of favour or form – or likely both.
Our last serious foray into the Winter transfer market saw us splash around £45M on Walcott and Tosun, whose contributions have been fairly unimpressive and who will leave the club for little or no transfer recompense. However, if you look further back, there have been times when the window has been used well: loans for the likes of Pienaar and Arteta stand out to me especially; both were young(ish) players, both slightly out of favour but with undoubted ability. ....

Khedira in England seeking Premier League move Rumour Mill

Sami Khedira continues to be linked with Everton amid reports he is in England holding talks with interested parties.
According to Bild s Christian Falk and now The Mail, the 33-year-old is in negotiations with the Blues but is keeping his options open, with Tottenham also said to be a viable proposition for him.
“The Premier League is still missing in my collection, to play there would be the icing on the cake.” he told
The Athletic.
“There are fewer breaks in the game and many counter-attacks, but this is what I like. I ve done a lot of extra sessions with fitness coaches to get myself ready for a higher pace and intensity. Leicester City vs Everton

Leicester City vs Everton
Match Preview
Seamus Coleman won t be risked at the King Power Stadium but Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful he will be available for the weekend s clash with Arsenal
Everton s busy December continues tomorrow evening with a trip to Leicester City as Carlo Ancelotti looks to build on Saturday s spirited win over Chelsea.
The Toffees ended a run of just one win in seven with a 1-0 triumph over Frank Lampard s title-chasing outfit thanks to Gylfi Sigurdsson s penalty and it is likely that the manager will opt for the same starting XI at the King Power Stadium.
That s because both Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez have been ruled out again with hamstring and calf injuries respectively, although there is hope that both could be back in time for the League Cup quarter-final against Manchester United next week. ....
