It was back in 1224, three years after the death of St. Dominic, that 12 members of the Dominican order travelled from Oxford to Dublin, setting up a priory on the north bank of the Liffey, where the Four Courts now stand. From here, the Order rapidly expanded to most of the cities and large towns of Ireland, coming to Tralee in 1243 where they’ve had a continuous presence ever since.
For 14 years now, the Light Opera Society of Tralee – or LOST as it called for short – has set new standards in musical theatre in Kerry with productions such as the Mikado, Chicago, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Little Shop of Horrors, EVITA, The Producers, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd and most recently Phantom of the Opera.
