The Ogun State government has demolished DATKEM Plaza in Ijebu Ode owned by a former lady of the state, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, wife of former Governor Gbenga Daniel. Daniel is the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district of the state in the 10th Senate. Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Daniel belong to the same party – the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The construction of the building started in 2009 and it was scheduled for inauguration at the end of September 2023. The building reportedly cost about N1 billion.
