Work was long today and then there was a dentist appointment at the other end of town—then a quick trip to the H‑E‑B and I finally got home. It was about two hours later when I finally walked in the front door and got to kiss my handsome husband.
Chris was great and shooed me off to nap right away. This was about 3:30. I set my timer to go off at 5:15, and an alarm at 5:30 pm. I figured that I would get a really good nap in, get up and make some dinner for the family. The timer went off, and I shut it off, knowing the alarm would go off at 5:30. Then at 5:30, I made the STOOPID, rookie error: I shut it off, and thought, I’ll just close my eyes for like 2 minutes. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. The next time I opened my eyes, it was 7:06!! After 7:00!! Are you kidding me?

Mini Coppers Are Awesome | 98.1 KVET-FM | Bama & Heather in the Morning

Mini Coopers
Mini Coopers are one of my favorite cars. I've had three of the later version...not the original. I sat in an original but my knees hit the steering column. My favorite was a Blue supercharged version (that's what the S stands for in the name plate) and it was like driving a Formula 1 car. So much fun that it produced 3 tickets the first year I had it. So it had to go. It had the white stripes down the hood which was BMW's ode to Race Driver John Cooper who raced the early minis to great success and all his race cars had that same stripe on them. Later, I had a Red one that had some mechanical issues but was what I used to teach my daughter how to drive a stick. She actually learned in a VW bug to start with (story another time) This time it went much better and we had a blast. I sold it because I really needed an automatic. The last one I owned was a silver one and was also a non supercharged one. Still fun but no race car. I suspect I will get another one, probably new and I will have the super charged one. Tickets be damned!

The CAF Bluebonnet Air Show is this Saturday in Burnet Texas and it is awesome. I went two years ago. There is also a car show so save your air show ticket. All happening right there on 281 in Burnet Texas.

My husband, Chris, and I are very excitedly awaiting approval by our homeowners association for an addition to our house. We are adding a deck. It’s not insanely fancy, but it is covered, so we did go through all the HOA guidelines and hired a designer and consulted with the Brushy Creek MUD folks—just to make sure we would not have any issues before we started. Now we are waiting for them to say yes. It has not been that long, but it seems like an eternity! I remember applying to college and to various jobs, running out to the mailbox over and over, or constantly checking my answering machine (because I’m old!) to see if I’d gotten an answer. I know it will come. I just am like a kid on Christmas Eve! Come on, Santa!!!

I get this one prescription (a generic version) and when I went to get my refill, the pharmacist announced to me--the pills look different because we switched manufacturers. She assured me that it was totally the same and would work the same. Only it didn't. It was interesting. I took the pills a few days to gauge whether I was imagining things or whether my (very minor) reaction was real. It was real. So I called the pharmacy to ask whether I could get the old manufacturer's version of the pill. (It was funny--I called the south Austin location of this pharmacy because its number was in my phone from my years of living down south--and the person who spoke to me was very helpful, looked me up in the system, said yes, the other pills could be ordered for me, and to talk to my Round Rock location. When I went to Round Rock--the pharmacist asked me 'who told you that?' like I'd stumbled onto company secrets!) Round Rock pharmacist told me we could do it, but the swap would count against my refills.
