صيفنا هذه السنة.. غير، وقد أبرز لنا ملامح وجهه القاسي بأن تجاوزت حرارته النهارية خارج المساكن ٥٠ درجة مئوية، في الضُحى والظهيرة، في جُلِّ مدننا الساحلية والداخلية، شمالاً وجنوباً وشرقاً وغرباً، بل وحتّى في الظلّ الظليل قد تجاوزت درجة حرارته ٤٠ درجة مئوية، درجة تنطح أختها الدرجة!.
أمّا داخل المساكن فتُصارع المُكيِّفات المسكينة صيفنا الساخن، مُنفردةً على حلبة بلا صاحب ولا نصير، وهي في الغالب تخسر الصراع وتعطب، وهذه مصائب لأصحاب المساكن، فلا مجال لاستمرارية الحياة الهانئة وراحة البال بدون مُكيِّفات، وهنا ستكون المصائب عند قومٍ فوائدُ لقوم آخرين هم وكالات المُكيِّفات وأصحاب الورش الأجانب، والصيف هو موسمهم الناجح الذي يستغلّونه أحسن استغلال لرفع أسعار الصيانة وموادها، وهو صهوة الحصان الرابح الذي يمتطونه كلّ عام، ويدرّ عليهم الكثير من المال على حساب المُستهلِكين الغلابة!.
وفي الصيف ترتفع قيمة فواتير الكهرباء بنسبة ارتفاع عن الشتاء قد تتجاوز المئة بالمئة، وإن كانت فواتير الكهرباء تُنْهِك المُستهلِكين في الشتاء فما بالكم في الصيف؟ إنّها في الشتاء تُنهكهم بالنقاط، أمّا في الصيف فبالضربة القاضية التي يصعب الفواق منها، وتستهلك جزءً كبيراً من الراتب الشهري الذي يستسلم لها بلا حول ولا قوة!.
وفي صيفنا يهجر النّاس التعرّض للشمس الحارّة، بعد أن انقلب نهارهم لليل وليلهم لنهار، وفي الغالب ينقص مخزون أجسادهم من فيتامين د، فتفرح المختبرات الطبية بذلك لغلاء فحوصات هذا الفيتامين، ومعها تفرح الصيدليات التجارية لغلاء كبسولاته وحُقَنِه!.
وفي المحصّلة تحصل القطيعة بين الناس وبين الشمس في الصيف، ذلك النجم السماوي المُسخّر للعالمين، وتغنّى به الشعراء، فقال عنه الصعايدة:
طِلْعِت يا مَحْلَى نُورْهِا.. شمس الشمّوسِة
يلّلا بِنَا نِمْلَا ونِحْلِب لبن الجاموسِة
لبن إيه؟ وجاموسة إيه؟ إنّه صيف قائظ بلا مثيل، فرفقاً بنا يا صيفنا العزيز!.

ABOUT 18 city and town mayors allied with the ruling PDP-Laban are supporting moves to urge President Rodrigo Duterte to run for the vice presidential seat during the 2022 national and local elections.
This was agreed on following the resolution passed by the mayors in Metro Manila allied with the ruling party asking Duterte to run for vice president.
Those who signed include local chief executives Ronda Mayor Terrence Mariano Blanco, Moalboal Mayor Paz Rozgoni, Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho, Asturias Mayor Jose Antonio Pintor, Consolacion Mayor Joannes Alegado, Consolacion Vice Mayor Teresita Alegado, City of Naga Mayor Kristine Vanessa Chiong, Carcar City Mayor Mercedita Apura, Medellin Mayor Joven Mondigo Jr, Tabogon Mayor Zigfred Duterte, Ginatilan Mayor Dean Michael Singco, Sibonga Mayor Leonel Bacaltos, Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña, San Fernando Mayor Lakambini Reluya, Lapu-Lapu City Vice Mayor Celedonio Sitoy, Malabuyoc Mayor Lito Narciso Creus, Daanbantayan Mayor Sun Shimura, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, Tabuelan Mayor Rex Casiano Gerona and Talisay City Mayor Gerald "Samsam" Gullas.

Malilong: No Barug-PDP Laban coalition next year

Two weeks ago, former Cebu City Councilor Joey Daluz announced his resignation from Barug, the other half in the coalition that he served as manager in the victorious 2019 campaign. He said he was instead going to reorganize the Panaghiusa, the political party of his mother, Inday Nita.
Over the weekend, another Barug stalwart also disclosed that he was going to revive the political party of his father. City Councilor Raymond Garcia said his decision to reactivate Kusug was a response to the clamor of many political leaders of former city mayor Alvin Garcia, including former and incumbent barangay captains.

THE yearly observances mandated by Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988 sets the first week of March as Women's Week and March 8 as Women's Rights and International Peace Day mandated by Proclamation No. 224 s. 1988, and March 8 of every year as National Women's Day mandated by Republic Act (RA) 6949 s. 1990. In general, the celebration of the women's month seeks to emphasize gender equality and further bring to fore the significant and indispensable role of the women in the society.
