Pinnacle Traxim forays into digital printing

Sonepat-based label converter Pinnacle Traxim has diversified into digital label printing with a new Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 press.
‘The demand for pressure-sensitive labels has been growing rapidly since Covid,’ explains says Sandeep Juneja, owner at Pinnacle Traxim. ‘We saw it as a good time to tap the opportunity and grow with the market. Thus the decision to invest in a digital press. We have been closely following Konica Minolta’s performance since the launch of the AccurioLabel press in India. It meets our requirements for short run jobs. We are confident to meet our customers’ expectations with this press.’
Prior to the installation of the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230, Pinnacle Traxim was mostly producing label jobs received from brands and other channels. Now, the company is focusing on reaching out to the brands and design companies in the local market to support their short run label requirements. ....

Food for thought: Scott Haskell argues that regulatory changes to food pricing, taxation, education, and business incentives, are needed to address food deserts, swamps, and mirages.
Food deserts vs. food swamps vs. food mirages and food insecurity are all important societal concepts that need addressing through community participation and changes in current food laws and regulations.
Civil society uses a number of terms to describe a population’s access to food. Food deserts are often described as specific geographic areas where residents’ access to affordable, healthier food options (e.g., low use of processed foods, low sugar groceries/drinks, fresh fruits and vegetables) are generally restricted or even nonexistent due to the absence of grocery stores/supermarkets/farmers markets within a convenient traveling distance to vulnerable communities. ....

Macaran appoints new EVP

Macaran Printed Products, a label and packaging converter, has appointed Tom Sargent as executive vice president, joining the executive leadership team.
In this role, Sargent will work closely with Macaran’s president and CEO, Nick Van Alstine, in managing all facets of the organization with a focus on sales, marketing, estimating, and customer service. Furthermore, he will oversee the enhancement of the company’s overall brand and value proposition, including driving market differentiation and competitiveness.
Sargent brings more than 30 years of experience in the flexible packaging and label industry, with a strong sales, marketing, and technical background. Labels UK upgrades to digital Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230

Labels UK supplies labels to customers in the food and drink, chemical, security, and pharmaceutical markets.
‘Our order book is full of jobs that can only be done on a digital press because customers want them printed yesterday,’ explained David Dobson, director of Labels UK. ‘We were finding it difficult to get reliable trade supply, so we decided to go into digital ourselves. This venture has been a real success for us, and some 30 percent of our business is now in digital, but we don’t want to stand still. Installing the AccurioLabel 230 was the next logical step.’
‘The whole installation process was impressively quick,’ added Steve Dobson, managing director of Labels UK. ‘The Konica team simply swapped the presses and trained the operator. We were back up and running in just three days, which is great as we really couldn’t have afforded any significant downtime.’ ....
