There are many instances of technology misuse, or technology gone wrong. Wrong call Microsoft's early chatbot, Tay, was shut down after it began to expatiate racist, misogynist and anti-Semitic material to Twitter (now X) users. Last year, after the company unveiled a new AI-powered version of its search engine, Bing, reports began to surface about it insulting, manipulating and lying to users.
