in chattanooga, tennessee, sunday morning, two people were shot and killed and at least 14 others wounded near a downtown night club. i m tired of standing in front of you talking about guns and bodies as if there are families whose lives have been shattered forever because once again we had people deciding to resolve their issues with firearms. another shooting overnight at a bar, this one in mess a, arizona. that left two people dead and two more injured. saturday night, at least three people were killed and 11 others injured in a shooting in philadelphia. police say several gun men fired into a crowd there. we re absolutely devastated, devastated by this incident. and we mourn the lives lost and the dozens and dozens of lives affected by this tragedy. that s not all. a drive-by shooting at a graduation party in south carolina left one woman dead and eight people injured, including a child. police say they have recovered about 60 shell casings from the scene ....

good morning to viewers here in the united states and all around the world, i m john berman with brianna keilar. a deadly weekend in the united states with ten mass shootings since friday. ten. that is according to the gun violence archive. in philadelphia one of the busiest nightlife spots in the city that s where it took place there. in chattanooga at a nightclub. in arizona at a bar. in south carolina, virginia, and texas it was graduation parties. in phoenix a strip mall. omaha near an apartment complex. in macon georgia at an abandoned house. all told 12 people were killed, more than 60 hurt, the victims all ages including teenagers and senior citizens. so far in 2022 the u.s. has seen 246 mass shootings, 33 of those since the elementary school attack in uvalde, texas, just about two weeks ago. now, this morning there is cautious optimism on both sides as key senators say that a bipartisan deal on gun reform is within reach. negotiators will continue to talk this ....

firing eight surface to surface missiles and according to a statement from south korea the firing response is to demonstrate to north korea that they have the capability to immediately strike with precision if needed. this is one of the key things the u.s. feels is important to do when north korea does this. there s been these responses before and continuing with them to send a message to north korea. is north korean leader even listening? does he care? we may get a better sense because this week lloyd austin goes to asia and in singapore expected to meet with the chinese counter part to talk about china and taiwan but coming to north korea china may be the one voice that the north koreans listen to. austin would be expected to make the case that north korea needs to stop with the missile launches because the ultimate goal is to develop a ballistic missile that some day potentially could strike the united states, the u.s. is determined not to let that happen. pamela? ....

the suspect s apparent hit list. the ukrainian capital was rocked by several large explosions in the past couple of hours. have a look here. this video coming out of kyiv today. the mayor says at least one person was hospitalized after missile strikes. we re hearing from ukraine s state-run nuclear power operator that russia fired a cruise missile critically low over a nuclear power plant in southern ukraine. the operator says the missile was likely fired for the kyiv area and it s accusing russia of another act of nuclear terrorism. missiles and shell strikes have batter the much of ukraine. the outnumbered and outgunned ukrainian troops have slowed the russian advance in the donbas to a crawl. the main battle right now appears to be for control of the strategic city of 7 donetsk in the heart of the donbas. ukraine claims to have retaken about half the city and says russia is throwing all its reserves into the fight and continuing to storm the city. a chemical plant ....
