It is my privilege to introduce professor Elizabeth Barron from the university of virginia who will speak on the election of 1864 in confederate eyes. I think this is a really important topic to address early on in this symposium so that we dont forget that there is a whole other conversation going on in other parts of the country. Professor baron got her bachelors degree from swathmore college.
