India News: MUMBAI: A little over a week after Election Commission's order granting NCP name and symbol to Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar.

The EC has handed over the NCP name and symbol to the Ajit Pawar faction based on the 'Test of Legislative Majority.' The faction was supported by 57 out of 81 legislators, deciding the claimant for the NCP symbol. The EC's decision is politically significant ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
