The Broadway production of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” was a spectacle that married different dance styles, from cancan and jazz to classic musical theater. Choreographer Sonya Tayeh’s biggest challenge: “How do I build the movement that moves the story and stays clear within that story?”
The show, based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 jukebox musical film, closed after eight months when the pandemic shut down Broadway, but it landed 14 Tony nominations, including a choreography nod for Tayeh — a great achievement considering it was her Broadway debut. The world of the musical was conceived along with Tony-nominated director Alex Timbers.

Binfield social distancing street party is held every Saturday - here's how to take part
The community lockdown dance was organised through the streets Whatsapp Group, which has 69 houses in it.
Other streets in Binfield including Red Rose, Braeside and Stevenson’s drive took part in the social distancing dance at 11am.
Sonia Bagshaw, organiser behind the Binfield Lockdown Boogie, said: "We have over 100 households on Facebook who are taking part and many others are arranging within their streets.
"The intention is to do a different song at 11am every Saturday so the whole village can join in. "This Saturday, you have to play I’m still standing by Elton John, Lets Dance by David Bowie and Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees so that everyone listens to the same songs in sync."
