and thanks to you at home for joining us this hour. so, special counsel jack smith has ten business days left if he wants to beat fulton county district attorney fani willis to an indictment. we have talked a little bit about that. dea willis has indicated that at some point between july 31st and august 15th she may bring charges against donald trump for his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in georgia. and mr. smith, whose federal indictment could over lap significantly with da willis s state indictment, well he likely wants his federal case to go first. at least one of the two grand juries and that da willis has empanel down in fulton county has already started its work as of this week. and either one of those grand juries could be asked to indict trump. but while we are waiting for a potential charging decisions here, it turns out that we should still be keeping our eyes on florida, and not just mar-a-lago. the new york times is reporting tonight ....

we hope you are doing well. from all of our colleagues across the network of nbc news, thank you for staying up late, icu at the end of tomorrow. of today, i saw down with former secretary of state presidential candidate hillary clinton and we covered a lot of ground. we talked about conflicts overseas in the middle east and in ukraine. we talked about donald trump s legal jeopardy and the utter chaos and the republican party. chaos that, by the way, it s in full display tonight. with the senate now scrambling to find a path forward after republicans killed their own bipartisan border legislation in order to appease donald trump. for weeks, republicans have insisted that they would not pass aid for israel in taiwan, as well as urgently needed funding for ukraine unless democrats agreed to have new border policies. just to put this all into perspective for, ukraine is facing some of its biggest challenges since this war began. russia has ramped up missile strikes across ....

this post in 2017. he is also a registered republican. but that did not matter to the gop members who used today s hearing to go after him personally. when the court says the fbi misled, but it s a nice way of saying they lied. the american people fully understand that there is a two tiered justice system. that has been weaponized to persecute people based on their political beliefs. and that you have personally been worked to weaponize the fbi against conservatives. i would disagree with your characterization of the fbi. and certainly your description of my own approach. the idea that i m biased against conservatives seems somewhat insane to me given my own personal background. your job is to review what they do, your job is to protect the american people from tyrannical fbi, storming the home of an american family. i could not disagree more with your description of the fbi s tyrannical. you seem deeply and curious about, it don t you? almost suspiciously ....

on this point. i am quoting here, we cannot except former president trump s claim that a president has unbounded authority to commit crimes. and we neutralize the most fundamental check on the executive power, in recognition, an implementation of election results. and going on to say, nor can we sanctioned his apparent contention that the executive has carte blanche to violate the rights of individual citizens to vote, and to have their votes count. the court throwing out trump s arguments that he should not have to go on trial, on federal election subversion charges. charges that you would expect, vowing to appeal to the supreme court. but he only has until monday to decide whether he can do that. let s talk right now with cnn analyst, norm eisen, and prosecutor, joe moreno. i m so happy that both of you are here today. first of all, we have been talking about this for the better part of a month, norm. the fact that it took this long, it s perhaps a surprising announce ....

done, probably a carveout for the uk and ultimately i think they pop the champagne after this battle that this deal gets done. what is going to happen in the uk? are they going to come up with some kind of a compromise to meet the regulator s demand? yeah, we think they carveout, there is a piece on the subscription side they carveout, to ultimately give the uk regulators what they want and i think this is all a game of poker and i think microsoft recognises if they beat ftc and they thought they had and they thought they had a strong case, i think ultimately it is a black eye for lina khan and the ftc. and it is now on a glide path to finally get done. a significant deal for microsoft. a significant deal for tech, especially with the ftc s significant loss right there. you do not think the ftc will appeal? they can appeal but ultimately i think there is a better chance of me playing the premier league than them winning. i think this is just a winning. i think this isju ....
