OMCs keep petrol, diesel prices static as global crude stable


NEW DELHI: Fuel prices in the country remained unchanged on Friday as oil marketing companies decided to go on a pause mode and analyse the global developments on oil prices before effecting a revision.
Accordingly, pump prices of petrol and diesel remained at Rs 90.40 a litre and Rs 80.73 a litre respective in Delhi.
The price of the two auto fuels had fallen by 16 paisa and 14 paisa per litre respectively last week on Thursday after a 15 day break when OMCs kept its prices static.
Across the country as well the petrol and diesel price remained unchanged on Friday but its retail levels varied depending on the level of local levies on respective states. ....

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to reduce the prices of petroleum products in the country, a notification from the Finance Division in this regard said Wednesday.
The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.50 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs3, kerosene by Rs1.55, and the rate of light diesel oil has been slashed by Rs1.56 per litre. The development comes after Federal Finance Minister Hammad Azhar had announced the government s decision to decrease the prices of petrol and diesel. This decision is not related to the ECC [meeting that took place] but the first decision we have taken, after consultations with the prime minister, is that we will reduce the prices of petrol and diesel, said Hammad Azhar during a news conference. ....
