Committee. what s your sense of whether this will make it out? my sense is that it will eventually, but this could be a long night for rules committee members. you mentioned two of the hard line republicans on that committee who were put on as part of the deal to make mccarthy the speaker. the third is thomas massey of kentucky who s kind of the mystery vote right now. he has tried to keep his cards relatively close to the vest about how he would vote on moving this deal out of rules and to the floor. when asked about it today, he told me he wants to consult with his wife about it first then he ll be tweeting later. if republicans want to move this with just republican votes, we re not clear how democrats are going to vote on this in the rules committee although jeffries said he doesn t think there will be a problem in the rules committee. massey is the man to watch. i ve got an alert set for his twitter account and we ll see where he comes down. but rules is going to observe the hea ....

Republic party. i don t say that as a democrat. that is a fact. there s nothing for them to rally around. who knows how to get off this. i thought that they would have the common sense to just gut it out and make mccarthy the speaker, but that s not where they are, and it s kind of fun to watch. i got tell you, it s somewhat entertaining. it s not good for the country, but it sure is good for me. you re entitled to take what you can off it. you look at tomorrow you say, they re adjourned, they re going to come back. it seems intractable if the bulk of republicans say, we want to make a point. we don t want hostage taking to be rewarded. you could have 10, 20, 30 votes like this. or you say, fining you hate him so much, we ll give you something, and they re going put in someone comparable. as i always say, when the hey is all over the floor of the barn, it s hard to count the hey to 218. you know i always say that. i got you exactly right. ....
