At approximately 8:22 a.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a motor vehicle, according to a press release from Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes. Marinus Lalumia was crossing Hazel Street near the intersection with Van Orden Place when he was hit by a 2017 Honda HR-V that was being driven by a 21-year-old Paterson resident. Lalumia was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time, but an investigation is ongoing, said the prosecutor’s office and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi in the statement. ....
