Four Iowans to be honored at Red Cross' Heroes of the Heartland event

Two men were playing a pick-up soccer game when their friend collapsed. They administered CPR as they waited for paramedics, and are credited with saving their friend’s life. Their story is one of four to be celebrated at the annual Heroes of the Heartland event, put on by the American Red Cross of Central Iowa. The 20th annual fundraiser will hold its first virtual event at 7:30 a.m. March 24. Last year's event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
