RI Guard will go to Washington to support inauguration security
Members of the Rhode Island National Guard will deploy to Washington, D.C., to help keep order during the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden next week amid heightened security concerns after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. As many as 100 members of the 142d Airlift Wing and 56th Troop Command will travel to Washington to "support the inauguration and provide traffic control, logistics, planning and other support functions," said Guard spokesman Capt.
