CSPAN3 Federal Officials Testify On Bioresearch Laboratory Security September 27, 2016

I think there is something to that. The way i would summarize it would be to say the United States is still the most powerful country in the world, but the margins of our lead are contracting. And what that means in terms of policy is that big problems in the world cannot be solved without the United States, but the United States can no longer be solving them alone or be dictating to others exactly how they get solved. So the premium in these coming years for the United States, i think, as the leading power in the world, is going to be on Coalition Building and alliance management. When we think about terrorism, think about cyber terrorism and big ideas of the chinese around the world i think the nature of our ....

Missiles, and Electronic Warfare systems to youpossible orders to create antiaccess zones from which to project power. We met with the u. S. Army europe commander, ben hodges, last week. Wasked him if moscow bolstering its position in europe and what russian capabilities worry him the most. The ability the russians have move a lot of forces very quickly if the thing that worries me the most about what they can do. The lack of indicators and warning that we have, and their ability to move stuff real fast, thats not a good combination. Then you match that with the area and access denial capability they invested in denyingrad, where they can access, what they have invested in the crimea more than 25,000 any ship capability to the black sea, and as you alluded to, they have the ability to create a bubble over a corner of the mediterranean with their Defense Systems they have ....

CSPAN2 Key Capitol Hill Hearings May 1, 2015

Vagrants standard for sentencing than a statement whether a crime is at the outset . I dont believe it deserves a lesser scrutiny because it is both mandatory and onerous. I am not talking about some other aspects but for that question. And frankly, it suggests that criminal statutes deserve greater scrutiny even though the licensing that gave rise to that statement of every application, they deserve greater scrutiny and this is one of the most onerous penalties we face in practice. I understand your argument. To add to the list of crimes or to have an element of a crime. That is the only thing nothing else. No, your no your honor, i do not mean to suggest that at all. It is a better congressional function. One move congress to take is to list every requirement they think. Another is to say the statute has to have as an element a serious risk of injury to others. But sort of those two. Your honor, i dont think listing them is that difficult. They list a large number of things. Listing ....

CSPAN2 General Ann Dunwoody On A Higher Standard May 25, 2015

I thought that was very good thing t was very much in our countrys interest. I think it has worked out well. But i think we have to wait and see what the president comes up with. And you know i dont know what that is going to be. I know at the moment the ayatollah and u. S. Congress are not making his life and that effort any easier. But, i i just urge you once again, weve had many estimates of iranian capabilities. Im not persuaded given what i saw in iraq that we know much more about iran than we knew about iraq. I hope we do but i couldnt count on it and im not actively reporting that right now anyway. There is plenty more material in the book. So we hope you buy the book and buy it here in support of the wonderful work that brad and elissa do at politics prose. Thank you all for coming. [applause] booktv is on twitter.
