Ankeny police say they encountered two men with gunshot wounds. Justin phongsavanh and nickolas culver, both 18yearsold. One of the men was also pistol whipped. Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument regarding poor behavior in the restaurant. After the shooting, 36yearold gabriel coco fled the scene in a vehicle with a female passenger. 30 minutes later, coco turned himself in to the polk county sheriffs office. Hes been charged with two counts of willful injury. I pulled up and i saw a kid getting bandaged, sitting on the curb over on the end of the parking lot. The drum was either knocked over or dislodged from a piece of heavy equipment, police said. It then rolled several hundred feet as it went down a hill, through a fence and onto the sidewalk where the woman was walking with co-workers from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Western Psychiatric Hospital.
Police say an 18-year-old man was killed, and a 23-year-old and two 17-year-olds were wounded in what they believe was a drive-by shooting. One of the 17-year-olds is in critical condition.
