Dementia carers 'haven't slept in years', suffering burnout

Sarah Carberry has not slept properly in years as she looks after her 94-year-old mother, who suffers from Alzheimer s disease and lives in a granny flat on Carberry s isolated Marlborough Sounds property.
The number of people living with dementia will soon triple. One daughter tells JODY O’CALLAGHAN what it is like suffering carer burnout in a system already struggling.
