Ant Middleton says 'we crushed' Sam Burgess on SAS Australia

Retired NRL player Sam Burgess is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars to sign up for this year's season of SAS Australia.
But it seems the show's directing staff didn't 'play favourites' or go easy on the ex-Rabbitohs footballer, 32, according to chief instructor Ant Middleton.
Ant, 40, proudly told The Daily Telegraph he and his colleagues, all of whom are former British Special Forces soldiers, 'crushed' Sam during the selection course.
'We crushed him': SAS Australia chief instructor Ant Middleton has revealed he identified Sam Burgess' (pictured) biggest weakness and 'exploited' it during the brutal selection course
'Just because he is a big lump, I am not scared to try and push those buttons,' Ant said, revealing how he rooted out and exploited Sam's weaknesses.

SAS Australia is preparing to film a third season and it will feature 'everyday Australians'

While the show will use the same base camp as season two, some of the locations and challenges will be changed.
Season three will be filmed over two weeks, making it more condensed than the show's previous seasons.
Normal people: Rather than featuring celebrities, the third season of the hit Channel Seven reality show is set to focus on 'everyday Australians'
But it's expected to be just as gruelling, especially for the show's DS (directing staff), who will film back-to-back seasons.
Channel Seven is yet to confirm if the show's third season will air sometime this year or next year.

SAS Australia's Ant Middleton reveals the bizarre reason why he can no longer go to the pub

'You know, you go to walk to the toilet, and there's "Ayyy! You've got to get past me! You know, SAS!" And I'm like, "Don't make me, mate."'
He added jokingly: 'Jab him in the throat so he can't talk, and then I'll kick him in the face, and then I'll have the Old Bill (police) knocking at the door the next morning. But we won't go into that.'
Target: In an interview with Triple M's Moonman In The Morning on Monday, the 40-year-old SAS Australia instructor was asked if 'guys have a go at you' at the pub

SAS Australia: Sam Burgess was put through 'horrendous' tasks

'We know he's tough, but it's a mental strength of how much he wants it in that moment, is that right?' Wippa asked.
'It comes down to mental strength to be honest. I won't give too much away, but you've named a good one there,' Billy, a decorated former SAS solider, replied.

Co-host Sarah McGilvray then asked Billy, who shares a son and a daughter with his ex-wife Phoebe, if Sam had 'impressed' the Directing Staff.

A large tarmac area with a stage was also visible - a place where lead trainer Ant Middleton has been known to torment recruits in the past.
There are a few more buildings further down - perhaps for the cast or crew to stay in - and fully functioning portaloos on site.
The location is set amid an abundance of trees and rolling mountains, meaning it would be hard for a member of the public to simply stumble across.
Team work: After the 18 new recruits were announced on Monday, it appears Channel Seven have chosen a whole new - and much warmer - location for their celebrities to film at this season. Pictured, left to right, DS Billy Billingham, Jason Fox, Matthew Ollerton and Ant Middleton

ANT Middleton did not let being in hotel quarantine stop him from working out as he moves on after getting the axe from Channel 4.
The former soldier was dumped by Channel 4 from the UK version of SAS: Who Dares Wins after it said it would not be working again with the 40-year-old after clashes over his “personal conduct”.
