Rising costs for repairs, utilities, insurance and property tax bills have landlords passing costs to their tenants in Pueblo.

Pueblo's first tanning salon is reopening May 15 after moving next door and undergoing a modernization that brings the spa back to life with safe spray tan services instead of old-school tanning beds. The Tanned Banana opened in 1994 when Tom and Jodean Guay started the business. Now it has a new name — The Banana — and is located at 309 S. Ray Aguilera, a longtime Pueblo City Council member and fixture of the Bessemer community, died Sunday morning at age 78, surrounded by his family.  Aguilera was living with his family in Denver under hospice care since early last week. The cause of Aguilera's death is not yet known. A 121-year-old Victorian-era gem in the heart of the Union Avenue Historic District soon will be brought back to its glory days thanks to a new owner.  The McLaughlin Building, 330 S. Union, was built in 1891 in homage to Michael McLaughlin, a local grocer, who had died three years earlier. Now new owner J.R.
